Grace Full
“When you hear the new covenant of grace preached, it is always Christ-exalting. It always reveals more and more of Jesus. It always unveils the beauty of Jesus and the perfection of His finished work on the cross. Jesus is always glorified when grace is taught. There is no grace without Jesus”. – Joseph Prince
A friend of mine made the decision to no longer call himself a Christian. He is still a ardent follower and disciple of Jesus but in his mind there is too much mixture in the minds of many who hear and use the term.
I believe the root problem can be traced back to an ungodly mixture of grace and the law. With grace you totally and completely depend upon Jesus and what the Gospels and New Covenant reveal He did for mankind. In other words, there is a finished work of restoration of relationship back to God in Christ and this is your stance when you live a grace full life.
With the law you depend upon your own self effort – what you can do to be right with God. The confusion flows out of who or what you are depending upon for righteousness or right standing with God. Some are so schizophrenic in this that in the morning they are in grace and by noon they are under the law of self effort.
The only safe place is to continuously recognize who is the focus of most of our thoughts and who is being followed – Jesus or religion.

Our daughter from Philadelphia paid us a visit this past holiday weekend. We had a somewhat heated discussion about standing up for our Christian faith. She referenced a young minister who is very vocal and focused upon addressing the dangers of hip hop music. At one point I expressed my feelings about how we may say and do the right thing but the way we do it is wrong. What do you think? Does the importance of the message excuse the spirit in which it is done?
